History:
The institute started its activities in 1962 in the walled building of the then Edward Industrial School in the center of Bogra city (seven heads). The institute started its journey with civil and power technology. Later, to expand technical education, the Bogra Polytechnic Institute was renamed as Vocational Teachers Training Institute on Sherpur Road.

Bogra Polytechnic Institute is a government educational institution under the Department of Technical Education, Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The 4-year Diploma-in-Engineering education program is conducted by the Technical Education Board of Bangladesh.
Bogra Polytechnic Institute is surrounded by lush greenery and in front of the Academic cum administrative building of the institute there is a beautiful flower garden with fountains decorated with light. Built on 16 acres of land, the institution has 3 storied picturesque buildings, academic work, administrative building, residential building, dormitory, dormitory, etc.
